Gleeful vs Happy Mammoth

Gleeful vs Happy Mammoth

Gleeful and Happy Mammoth may well be the most well known supplements targeting women's hormone health, but that doesn't mean they're the best. In fact they're both far from it, with ingredients dosed well below the clinical trials, high price points, and a host of other issues neither of these would come anywhere near the top of our best hormone balancing supplements breakdown.

They both hide under dosing in proprietary blends, in other words most of the ingredients require way more than is mathematically possible to be in here to actually work.

But, they do have the biggest marketing budgets...

That doesn't mean that Happy Mammoth and Gleeful are completely useless, just that there are much better options. Generally we recommend EstroCare, you can read our review here. But, they actually have the correct dosing and avoid proprietary blends, largely because they don't need to hide what they're doing.

That said if you do really want either Happy Mammoth or Gleeful, there is a clear "winner" if you can call it that.

Now, the problems with both...

Problems Happy Mammoth Under dosing

We need to briefly explain something, Happy Mammoth uses a supplements industry trick "ratio extracts" 10:1 and similar numbers don't mean 10 times more potent, it just means that the ingredient weighed 10 times more before processing. Unless the ingredient says it's standardized for a specific compound these numbers are meaningless. And that's what Happy Mammoth uses to con you.

Keep in mind these are just a couple of examples, but:

Maca Root – You need 1.5 to 3 grams are recommended for hormone support. There have been some libido benefits with the lower dose, but it's one 5 ingredients in an 800mg blend so it's too low for even that dose.

Ashwagandha – Often effective at 300-600 mg. This is part of the blend, so the amount is probably too low to fully help with stress relief and hormone balance. They try to cover this up by claiming a 25:1 blend, but the version that was used for the 300-600mg studies was already a 95% active ingredient version.

Rhodiola Rosea – Usually effective at 200-300 mg. As part of the MenoMood Complex blend (450 mg total with several ingredients), it’s likely below the effective level.

Anything Good About Happy Mammoth?

Something in here will be dosed correctly, but Happy Mammoth imply that you're getting a top tier product with dozens of fully dosed ingredients, whereas in reality you're getting a budget hormone supplement with some good branding.

What About Gleeful's Problems

And Gleeful uses proprietary blends to do all of the work hiding their issues. By mixing multiple ingredients into a single blend and listing the total weight, they don’t disclose how much of each individual ingredient you’re actually getting. This makes it easy to under-dose key ingredients without you the customer knowing, especially when popular ingredients are added in minimal amounts to create the appearance of a comprehensive formula.

Keep in mind, the entire Gleeful blend is only 810mg and there's 11 ingredients in there.

L-Arginine and L-Tyrosine Studies show that effective dosages are 3-6 grams for L-Arginine and 500-2000 mg for L-Tyrosine but, Gleeful includes only 100 mg of each meaning this is functionally pointless.

Ashwagandha – We covered Ashwagandha in the Hormone Harmony section but you need 300mg and up...

Maca Root – You need more than entire gram, so next.

Ginger and Turmeric – Both are known for their anti-inflammatory effects, but studies typically use at least 500 mg and even then it needs to be specific standardized extracts.

Anything Good About Gleeful?

While Gleeful does include some beneficial ingredients, they’re not dosed to match clinical research levels, which makes it unlikely that users will feel much in the way of benefits. And in fact is is much worse for this than Happy Mammoth.
