Better Alt Sea Moss is a really misleading product, and sure, it’s only $25, but ultimately it’s not going to do anything, meaning it’s not worth buying. The problem is that everything is underdosed and some of the claims are purely false.

Take for example the inclusion of Ashwagandha, now the dose low end dose of Ashwagandha is 300mg, and Better Alt Sea Moss claims to have a 10:1 extract, the thing is, you can’t actually have a 10:1 extract of Ashwagandha, because the typical extract, dosed at 300mg, is already 95% purity in terms of the compound that makes it work.

This is the trick 10:1 extracts without standardization are meaningless as it just means that the extract weighs 10 times less than the original form. This is true for Sea Moss as well, as carrageenan the compound that is responsible for it’s benefits typically makes up 20%. So not only it’s impossible for it to be 10 times purer, and even if it was pure carrageenan (and then this would be a full dose) then you wouldn’t be getting the other benefits of Sea Moss.

Unfortunately, this is true of all the ingredients in this Sea Moss blend so I can’t recommend it.

My favorite Sea Moss, and I do talk about this brand a lot, (surprisingly we’re not sponsored) is Nootrum. And if you look at the two ingredients labels, I’ll put them side by side below. You’ll see the difference.

It’s that big glaring standardization, telling you what the percentage of the core active ingredients are.

Granted even they fall into the 10:1 trap on burdock root, but they do actually inulin and actiin, which (and I did reach out to clarify) does mean 10 times the normal rate of these compounds. Which is actually possible unlike the Better Alt Sea Moss. You’ll also notice that the dosages are much larger, for example, the bladderwrack being at 400mg, rather than the 100mg in Better Alt Sea Moss. And yes 20% Fucoidan means a full dose.

In short Better Alt Sea Moss is not recommended, especially when you look at it side by side against a competitor which costs $5 more and offers more than double the effective ingredients. It’s actually even less if you buy in bulk.

And the disappointing thing is that Better Alt aren’t a terrible brand, their Shilajit Resin is completely serviceable. Again it’s not my favorite, but I have no issues with it. This is just a let down of a product.

My Better Alt Sea Moss Review Conclusion

Not worth the money, either get a plain Sea Moss supplement that has a large enough dose that the standardization doesn’t matter as much, or find the extra $5 and get Nootrum Sea Moss instead. Better Alt Sea Moss’s lack of standardization and misleading labelling means it’s not worth your money.
