Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods is a greens supplement that in theory is supposed to improve digestion and gut health, prevent bloating, and boost the immune system and natural energy levels. The problem is, in reality it isn't quite the potent greens powder the Bloom Nutrition website claims.

Most of the Bloom Nutrition Greens ingredients are actually proven to offer health benefits, although some aren't proven to offer any benefit at all. Many are also linked to side effects too.

The Bloom Nutrition Greens and superfoods formula also has a whopping seven proprietary blends, which mask the quantity of each ingredient. Even worse is the fact the doses are so low we can see there isn't enough present, despite their best attempts to hide this fact.

A low price, five flavour options, and being largely allergen free may seem attractive, but don't let it convince you to buy an entirely ineffective product. Instead, we suggest you stick to other greens powders that are proven to work, like Supergreen Tonik.

Bloom Nutrition Greens Ingredients

Fiber Blend - 1,606 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods Fiber Blend contains chicory root fructo-oligosaccharides, organic flax seed powder, and apple fruit powder.

Chicory root fructo-oligosaccharides are high in the prebiotic inulin, which benefits your digestive health, improves nutrient absorption and gut health, eases constipation, and reduces blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation (1).

Organic flax seed powder is full of alpha linoleic acid, which lowers blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels, and treats diabetes and metabolic syndrome (2).

The problem is, 2 grams of inulin and 15 grams of flax powder is required each day for either to have any effect, both of which is more than weight of the Greens and Superfoods Fiber Blend.

Apple fruit powder contains some vitamin c but the quantity is minimal, so it offers no real benefit to the greens powder.

Green Superfood Blend - 1,367 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods powder Green Superfood Blend features organic barley grass powder, organic spirulina powder, organic wheat grass powder, organic alfalfa leaf powder, and organic chlorella powder.

Organic barley grass powder is high in fibre, minerals, and vitamins. It boosts heart health and fat loss and reduces blood sugar and cholesterol levels when you take at least 6 grams daily (3).

Organic spirulina powder is a natural cyanobacteria rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, minerals, proteins, and vitamins. It prevents free radicals from causing oxidative damage, reduces blood sugar and blood pressure, and boosts heart health when you take at least 1 gram a day (4).

Organic chlorella powder is a chlorophyte green algae full of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that boosts energy levels better than sugar while regulating your blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

It also fights diseases, detoxifies the body, and boosts your health if you take 6 grams a day (5).

Unfortunately the doses of all these ingredients are miniscule and mixed in a Green Superfood Blend with useless ingredients like organic alfalfa leaf powder and organic wheatgrass powder, meaning they won't add any of these benefits to the Bloom Nutrition Greens powder.

Pre & Probiotic Blend - 648 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens and superfoods Pre & Probiotic Blend contains blue agave inulin, Bifidobacterium bifidum, lactobacillus rhamnosus, and lactobacillus acidophilus.

Aside from inulin, which we've already looked at, these are all bacteria that boost gut health and digestion, lower blood pressure levels, treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and boost brain health in elderly people (6).

However, the range of bacteria used in Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods is more limited than most dietary supplements of this kind, so won't produce all these effects.

What's more, pre and probiotics should be measured in CFU (colony forming units), not milligrams, so we have no idea how much is present and if it's enough to be useful.

Fruit And Vegetable Blend - 572 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens Fruit And Vegetable Blend has organic carrot root powder, beet root powder, kale leaf powder, blueberry fruit powder, spinach leaf powder, broccoli head powder, and ginger root extract.

Spinach and kale leaf powder both come from leafy greens high in vitamins, minerals, and fibre. They offer health benefits including improving vision, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, and preventing anxiety, heart disease, oxidative damage, and stress (7).

Blueberry powder contains anthocyanins and antioxidants which enhance brain, heart and liver health and functions, stimulate nerve growth, and prevent inflammation and mental decline (8).

Beet powder boasts vitamins and minerals that lower blood pressure and cholesterol, improve eye, heart, and immune health, boost energy and stamina, protect your blood, liver, and other organs, reduce inflammation, and prevent some illnesses (9).

Ginger root extract features antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that prevent oxidative damage, lower cholesterol, improve the immune system and digestive health, and raise the bioavailability of the formula's other ingredients (10).

Yet again though, the doses are visibly too low to be of any use and they're lumped in with worthless ingredients like broccoli head powder and organic carrot root powder.

Antioxidant Beauty Blend - 550 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens Antioxidant Beauty Blend has cranberry fruit powder, acai berry, sour cherry fruit extract, strawberry fruit powder, raspberry fruit powder, European elder fruit powder, goji berry, horseradish tea leaf, grape seed extract, and matcha green tea leaf.

The berry and cherry powders all contain antioxidants, minerals, and vitamin c, and can boost bone, brain, eye, heart, skin, and gut health, lower blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, and enhance energy, immunity, stamina, and weight loss (11).

Horseradish and matcha green tea leaf and grape seed extract are all antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.

They detoxify the body, fight chemicals, diseases, and free radicals, burn calories and fat, improve brain and heart health, circulation, and natural energy levels, and lower inflammation and oestrogen production (12)(13)(14).

The issue is, as beneficial as the Antioxidant Beauty Blend ingredients are, there's lots of them crammed into a small blend, making it highly unlikely any are present in a useful dose.

Digestive Enzyme Blend - 150 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens and Superfoods supplement Digestive Enzyme Blend contains the digestive enzymes amylase, amyloglucasidase, protease, acid protease, cellulase, and lipase, plus maltodextrin.

Digestive enzymes improve digestive health by clearing the digestive tract and enhancing digestion and nutrient absorption (15). However, 3 of the main digestive enzymes (lactase, maltase, and sucrase) are missing, so the digestive enzymes present will have limited impact.

Maltodextrin, meanwhile, is an artificial sweetener that spikes your blood sugar, putting your health at risk, while further reducing the quantity of digestive enzymes present (16).

Adaptogenic Blend - 100 MG

The Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods Adaptogenic Blend contains the adaptogenic herbs licorice root extract, rhodiola root powder, American ginseng root powder, ashwagandha root powder, astragalus root powder, and eleuthero root powder.

Licorice root extract boosts digestion but also reduces testosterone and elevates cortisol levels, meaning it's more bad than good (17). Rhodiola root powder helps with fatigue and stress, but most of its benefits are unproven (18).

American ginseng root powder and ashwagandha root powder boost testosterone production, fertility, male sexual functions, cognitive functions, mental clarity, sleep, immunity, physical performance, and mood, reduce blood sugar and stress, and treat anxiety, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, and fibromyalgia.

These effects only occur when taking 250 mg of each daily though, which is far more than the adaptogenic herbs blend can contain (19)(20).

Astragalus root powder is an anti-inflammatory that aids heart and liver health, immunity, and testosterone production, and reduces cholesterol when you take 30 mg a day (21).

Eleuthero root boosts physical performance and reduces fatigue when you take 300 mg per day (22). This means neither is present in a dose that is effective.

Stevia Leaf Extract - 95 MG

Stevia leaf extract is a natural, low calorie sweetener with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It protects the brain, kidneys, liver, and pancreas, but is also potentially toxic and can cause infertility and health problems (23).

Bloom Nutrition Greens Reviews By Customers

The Bloom Nutrition Greens review score with customers seems pretty good, and it holds a 4.3 out of 5 stars rating on Amazon. The common theme in the positive Bloom Greens review section is its pleasant flavour and ability to make you feel less bloated.

Unfortunately, the negative Bloom Greens reviews painted a very different picture and were much more telling.

Not only did many struggle to drink Bloom Greens due to the texture and "earthy taste", but lots experienced zero health benefits and some even developed side effects like hair loss and a loss of taste.

Bloom Nutrition Greens Review Conclusion

Our Bloom Nutrition Greens review shows using proven ingredients isn't enough to make an effective supplement, as low dosages, unproven ingredients, and potential side effects can render it worthless.

That's why we recommend you don't buy Bloom Nutrition Greens and buy Supergreen Tonik instead. A proven, effective, great tasting greens supplement that offers all the health benefits greens powders can with no side effects, it's simply superior in every way.
