MenoFit Ingredients
Vitamin C (As Zinc Ascorbate) - 55 MG - Vitamin c is well known for its ability to boost the human brain and immune system, as well as your overall health.
It can then also boost your metabolism, production of collagen and neurotransmitters, muscle growth and recovery, joint health, flexibility and mobility, and muscle, bone and tooth strength, reduce inflammation, and help keep the skin of older women looking young (1).
Given the dosage of vitamin c present in MenoFit, the formula actually starts out looking pretty good.
Vitamin D (As Cholecalciferol) - 20 MCG - Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that menopausal women often become deficient in, due to their falling estrogen levels. Keeping vitamin d levels up can help prevent hormone imbalances, mineral deficiencies and menopause symptoms like weight gain, mood swings and poor bone health and density (2).
It can even support improved protein synthesis, energy levels, nutrient breakdown and absorption, recovery time, sleep quality and latency, and relaxation, all of which is beneficial for menopausal women.
Vitamin d is also another instance where MenoFit starts out looking fairly good based on the dose used.
Vitamin K2 (As Menaquinone) - 60 MCG - Vitamin K is a fat soluble vitamin that can aid vitamin d absorption, protect the blood vessels, bones and cartilage, reduce the risk of osteoporosis or help relieve its symptoms, and prevent hip and spine issues, all of which older women are at risk of during the menopause, due to their low oestrogen levels (3).
However, the minimum dosage of vitamin k2 required to produce any of these effects is 90 mcg per day. As this is 50 percent more than MenoFit contains, it simply will not be potent enough to be effective.
Vitamin B2 (As Riboflavin) - 20 MG - Vitamin b2 is useful in menopause supplements as it helps boost the production of oestrogen, which decreases during the menopause and is responsible for many of the menopausal symptoms you experience.
It can then also improve nutrient metabolism, digestion, cell respiration, antibody and blood cell production, muscle, organ, and skin growth and repair, and your energy levels.
The problem is, the maximum safe daily dose of vitamin b2 is just 1.3 mg (4). As MenoFit contains more than 15 times this amount with 20 mg per serving, it is far too strong and puts you at great risk of experiencing side effects.
Vitamin B6 (As Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) - 25 MG - Vitamin B6 consists of 6 compounds that affect over 140 coenzyme reactions in the human body between them. It can boost neurotransmitter production, brain health and functions, REM sleep and sleep quality, energy production, recovery time, and your metabolic rate and hormonal balance.
Again though, the maximum safe daily dosage of vitamin b6 is 1.7 mg per day and MenoFit contains around 15 times that at 25 mg per serving, so you are once more at great risk of experiencing side effects (5).
Vitamin B9 (As Folate) - 680 MCG - Vitamin b9 can treat menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats, boost DNA, RNA, and testosterone production, amino acid, nutrient, and sugar metabolism, and bodily tissue growth and repair, prevent anaemia and its symptoms, and improve your sexual health and functions.
Once more though, studies suggest that you should only take doses of a maximum of 240 mcg of vitamin b9 per day (6). As MenoFit contains almost 3 times this amount at 680 mg per serving, you will again be putting yourself at a great risk of experiencing side effects.
Vitamin B12 (As Methylcobalamin) - 400 MCG - Vitamin b12 enhances brain, bone marrow, DNA, red blood cell and nerve growth and functions, mental clarity, rest, recovery, and your metabolic rate and immune system health and functions, prevents mood swings, fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, mental decline, and depression, and regulates hormone levels.
The dosage of vitamin b12 present can actually be useful for middle aged women who have developed a deficiency. The issue is, it should only be used for short periods and under the supervision of medical professionals at doses this high, otherwise it can lead to you developing side effects (7).
Zinc (As Zinc Ascorbate) - 11 MG - Zinc is a mineral that can prevent anxiety, hormonal fluctuations, inflammation, tiredness, weakness, and a poor sex drive, while boosting eye health, night vision, and nerve and immune health and functions, all of which will help reduce common symptoms of menopause (8).
However, doses of between 5 and 10 mg of zinc are generally prescribed to help prevent menopause symptoms. While the 11 mg of zinc in each serving of MenoFit is not guaranteed to cause side effects, it may do if you are not already suffering from a zinc deficiency.
Benfotiamine - 25 MG - Benfotiamine is a relative of vitamin b1 that is thought to ease joint pain, help regulate your blood sugar levels, promote healthy weight loss, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, and prevent common menopause symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats.
Unfortunately, it has also been linked to a range of side effects and will not do you any good unless you take at least 300 mg twice per day (9). This means the single 25 mg dose in each serving of MenoFit is all but guaranteed to do nothing at all.
Astaxanthin Complex (Algae Derived) - 15 MG - Astaxanthin is an aquatic carotenoid said to reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, and DNA damage, boost the health of your connective tissues, heart, hair, skin, and eyes, prevent brain fog and high blood pressure and cholesterol, and provide immune support, all of which will ease the menopausal transition.
Unfortunately, despite rigorous research there has not yet been any conclusive evidence produced to support any of these claims. This means astaxanthin is just as likely to do nothing in MenoFit as it is to support women's health in any way (10).
MenoFit Probiotic Proprietary Blend - 125 MG (25 Billion CFU)
The MenoFit Probiotic Blend contains lactobacillus gasseri, lactobacillus reuteri, lactobacillus plantarum, and bifidobacterium animalis ssp lactis. These are all probiotics, which are a type of healthy bacteria that live in the gut and promote good gut and digestive health.
Lactobacillus gasseri and bifidobacterium animalis are two of the very best probiotics for combatting common symptoms of menopause, such as poor gut health, bloating, and vaginal dryness, and it can even stop you gaining weight, while the dosages appear to be more than sufficient as well (11).
The only potential issue is that there are two other, slightly less effective strains present and the proprietary blend makes it impossible to know how much of each is used in MenoFit, so we cannot say exactly how it will affect your gut health or support healthy weight loss.
MenoFit Prebiotic Stabilizer Proprietary Blend - 400 MG
The MenoFit Prebiotic Stabilizer Proprietary Blend consists of organic Jerusalem artichoke inulin, stabilized rice bran, calcium carbonate, tocotrienols complex from palm oil, resveratrol 98%, organic acacia gum, and sunflower lecithin.
Inulin can improve digestion, nutrient absorption, gut health, weight loss, and your energy, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels, and treat constipation and inflammation (12). Calcium carbonate can then help balance hormone levels and prevent issues like low bone density and cardiovascular disease (13).
Palm oil is said to prevent poor bone density and improve the estrogen receptors, but it can also lead to weight gain and heart issues (14). Acacia gum is a prebiotic fiber that can improve heart and gut health, suppress hunger, aid weight loss, and treat issues like diabetes and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)(15).
Resveratrol can reduce inflammation, oxidative damage, and poor gut, heart, and parasympathetic nervous system health, improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels, weight loss, and insulin and glucose sensitivity, and treat Alzheimer's disease and some chronic illnesses (16).
Sunflower lecithin then improves the stability and texture of a supplement, prevents fatigue and high cholesterol, and boosts heart, skin, and brain health and functions and energy levels (17).
The problem is, even though we do not know exactly how much of each is present, the weight of the blend means we can still tell that it does not contain enough of any of them to be of any use.
This is then made even worse by the fact that there is no evidence that rice bran does anything at all, despite the fact that it is the second most abundant ingredient in the blend.
MenoFit Support Supplements - 375 MG
The MenoFit Support Supplements blend features the plant compounds chaste tree berry extract, dong quai root extract, red clover extract, magnolia bark extract, berberine hcl from barberry root extract, bitter melon fruit extract, and r-alpha-lipoic acid.
Red clover contains isoflavones that can help women experience almost no hot flashes or night sweats, and maintain healthy hormone levels and strong, healthy bones and lungs (18). Magnolia bark extract is then said to prevent anxiety, depression, brain fog, and poor sleep quality (19).
R-alpha-lipoic acid can then help convert glucose into energy, neutralise free radicals, prevent oxidative damage and inflammation, improve your physical performance, and support healthy weight loss (20).
Chaste tree berry extract, dong quai root extract, berberine and bitter melon fruit extract are then said to help combat a host of common menopause symptoms when taken in dietary supplements.
This includes hot flashes, breast pain, mood swings, night sweats, food cravings, fatigue, insomnia, poor sleep quality, depression, irritability, hormonal imbalances, poor immune health, high blood pressure and cholesterol, inflammation, diabetes, and heart health issues.
The problem is, large doses of red clover, magnolia bark extract, and r-alpha-lipoic acid are needed to provide menopause symptom relief, which will be hard for the blend to contain, while the other ingredients have yet to be proven to actually combat menopause symptoms in clinical trials.
This means it is highly unlikely that any of the compounds in the blend will be able to function as effective menopause treatments.
